CHIC places the utmost importance on ensuring user data security and privacy. In line with Japanese regulations, and to comply with financial compliance standards, CHIC users are required to undergo KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) verification through a third-party financial compliance provider. As a result, full anonymity on-chain cannot be guaranteed. However, CHIC maintains a strong commitment to data privacy and security, employing advanced measures to protect user information while complying with these legal obligations.

Data Collection and Usage

While KYC and AML requirements necessitate the collection of certain user data, CHIC ensures that this data is processed with the user’s informed consent and solely for compliance purposes. Key principles include:

• Minimal Data Collection: CHIC only collects the necessary data required for legal compliance, AI personalization, and system functionality.

• User Consent: Users provide consent for data collection, which is required for both compliance and interaction with AI systems. Users can withdraw consent at any time, but this may limit certain functionalities.

• Transparency: Users are informed of the specific purposes for which their data is collected and how it is used.

AI Interaction and Data Memory

• AI Data Storage: Data related to user interactions with AI is securely stored and used solely for the purpose of enhancing the user experience.

• User Control: Users retain the ability to review, correct, or close their AI interaction data.

• Confidentiality: User data used by the AI is never shared with third parties unless legally required, and all data processing complies with Japan’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).

Privacy in Smart Contracts and Blockchain

Although full anonymity cannot be achieved due to KYC and AML requirements, Cosmos implements robust privacy features within its blockchain system to protect user transaction data.

Security Protocols

• Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, ensuring that personal and financial data is protected.

• Access Control: Role-based access control (RBAC) ensures only authorized personnel can access sensitive information.

• Compliance with Japanese Law: CHIC ensures that all security and privacy measures are aligned with Japan’s regulatory framework, particularly PIPL and financial compliance laws.

User Rights and Data Management

Users have control over their personal data, with the right to:

• Access and review their personal data, including AI interaction history.

• Request updates, corrections, or deletion of their data.

• Manage data processing preferences, understanding that opting out of certain processes (e.g., AI personalization) may limit system functionality.
